Founded by the Jackson Family, Lokoya is dedicated exclusively to producing single-appellation Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley's four great mountain districts. Each wine is sourced from meticulously selected vineyard sites and crafted to express the geology, elevation, and climate unique to its mountain origin.
The 2019 Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon blends fruit from Wallis Vineyard and Rhyolite Ridge, two exceptional sites rooted in volcanic soils rich in obsidian and rhyolite. Diamond Mountain's slightly warmer climate and ability to emerge from the morning fog earlier than neighboring mountain AVAs allow the fruit to achieve exceptional ripeness while preserving freshness and structure.
The wine opens with aromas of crème de cassis, black raspberry, graphite, crushed stone, spearmint, and espresso bean. The palate is powerful yet remarkably refined, combining dense mountain fruit with polished tannins and vibrant acidity. Layers of dark chocolate, scorched earth, floral notes, and volcanic minerality unfold through an exceptionally long finish that speaks unmistakably of Diamond Mountain.
