The 2022 Tatomer Küstennebel Pinot Noir is Graham Tatomer's distinctive expression of the cool, fog-influenced Sta. Rita Hills, combining fruit from Drum Canyon and the historic Sanford & Benedict Vineyard.
Küstennebel, German for “coastal fog,” reflects Tatomer's restrained approach to Pinot Noir, emphasizing gentle extraction, freshness and vineyard character rather than sheer ripeness. The 2022 is dark and savory for a medium-bodied Pinot Noir, layering black cherry, plum and cranberry with lavender, licorice, leather, black tea and subtle tobacco. Bright acidity and a saline edge provide energy and length, while the wine's supple texture makes it compelling now with the structure to develop beautifully in bottle.
