Kistler Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay
Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay at altitude, made by one of California's most allocated houses.
One of California's defining Chardonnay houses, on Sonoma Mountain.
The Kistler Sonoma Mountain bottling, drawn from the historic McCrea Vineyard (Athearn Estate), one of the highest elevation Chardonnay sites in the AVA.
Kistler Vineyards has been one of California's defining Chardonnay houses since 1978. Jason Kesner has steered the cellar since Steve Kistler's departure, lifting tension and trimming oak while preserving the elegance and texture that built the Kistler reputation. The McCrea Vineyard sits on volcanic ash soils with strong diurnal swing, and Kesner has been picking earlier in recent years to amplify aromatic clarity.
Whole-cluster pressed, native-yeast barrel fermentation in French oak, full malolactic, extended sur lies aging without battonage. Drink from 2027 through 2036.
