Vivier Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
93 Points. Harvested Before The Heat. Defined By Balance.
Founded by Stéphane Vivier, Vivier Wines is dedicated to crafting small-production wines that express vineyard character with precision and restraint. His philosophy emphasizes balance, freshness, and transparency, allowing each wine to reflect its origin rather than excessive winemaking influence.
The 2022 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir exemplifies that approach. Harvested before Northern California's September heat event, the wine retained remarkable purity and freshness despite a challenging vintage. The bouquet opens with expressive aromas of rose petals, vivid black cherry, black tea, and sweet Asian spices, while the palate is rich yet beautifully composed. Tangy acidity and moderate tannins frame layers of ripe red fruit, carrying the wine to a long, polished finish.
Awarded 93 points by James Suckling and 92 points by Wine Spectator, this Pinot Noir demonstrates that thoughtful farming and impeccable timing can produce a wine of elegance, energy, and remarkable drinkability. It is equally enjoyable alongside duck, grilled meats, king salmon à la plancha, or simply on its own as the evening begins.
