Icardi has quietly become one of Piedmont's most compelling organic producers. Based in the heart of Barolo country, the family focuses on traditional Nebbiolo while farming organically and maintaining a strong connection to the region's historic vineyards. Parej is their flagship Barolo, sourced from organically farmed vineyard sites and vinified in a style that balances accessibility with authenticity.
The 2019 vintage is particularly noteworthy. Widely regarded as one of the strongest recent Barolo vintages, it produced wines with concentration, freshness, and excellent aging potential. Parej opens with aromas of rose petals, dried cherries, blood orange, white pepper, and warm spice. On the palate, the wine delivers layers of red fruit, savory earth, and fine-grained tannins that carry through a long, focused finish. James Suckling awarded the wine 92 points, praising its purity, freshness, and linearity.
