Haynes Vineyard Vigneron Chardonnay
96 Points From One Of Napa Valley's Most Historic Chardonnay Vineyards.
A striking, site-transparent Chardonnay from one of Napa’s most revered, quietly legendary vineyards.
Haynes Vineyard is one of Coombsville's pioneering estates, rooted in a historic vineyard first planted in 1967 and today guided by Master Sommelier Carlton McCoy Jr. alongside winemaker Nico Cueva. Every wine is estate-grown and crafted with an unwavering commitment to expressing the vineyard's unique volcanic soils and cool-climate character. Certified organic and biodynamic farming, native yeast fermentation, whole-cluster pressing, and extended aging in neutral casks reflect a philosophy that favors transparency over intervention.
The 2020 Vigneron Chardonnay comes from the estate's younger Chardonnay vines, planted in 1992. The bouquet opens with aromas of lime, baked apple, crushed stone, and dried white flowers, leading to a palate that is both generous and remarkably focused. Layers of orchard fruit, honeyed citrus, and mineral tension unfold across a linear frame, finishing with exceptional freshness and persistence.

“"Lime, cooked apple, crushed stone and dried flowers on the nose. Full-bodied yet compacted with a linear and firm texture... Ripe yet so vivid."”
