The 2024 Domaine Leflaive Mâcon-Verzé brings the philosophy of one of Burgundy's legendary white-wine estates south to the Mâconnais. Chardonnay is drawn from multiple parcels across the Verzé Valley, planted between 1940 and 2023 on clay-limestone soils with southeast and southwest exposures.
The vineyards are farmed biodynamically and harvested entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place across a combination of stainless steel, foudres, concrete and 600-liter barrels, followed by ten months on the lees and approximately six additional months on fine lees in stainless steel. The result is a pure, energetic expression of Chardonnay, balancing orchard and citrus fruit with flowers, subtle richness and limestone-driven minerality.
