I am speechless about this one. That is how James Suckling describes the 2022 IX Estate. Full bodied and tannic, with the intensity that Napa mountain reds achieve in hot vintages, yet remaining tense and blue-fruited, showing it was not touched by the extremes of the year. Menthol and fresh thyme in the finish. A blend of approximately 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and small amounts of Merlot and Petit Verdot from Colgin’s Pritchard Hill estate, farmed with precision and reverence.
