Artadi Vinas de Gain

Artadi stands among the most influential producers in modern Spanish wine. Located in the village of Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa, the estate built its reputation by championing terroir over tradition, shifting attention away from Rioja's aging classifications and back toward vineyard character. Viñas de Gain is sourced from more than twenty organically farmed parcels scattered throughout Laguardia and Elvillar. Many of the vines are between twenty and fifty years old, planted in the limestone-rich soils that define Rioja Alavesa. The diversity of these sites gives the wine remarkable complexity while preserving a clear regional identity.

The 2023 vintage reveals aromas of black cherry, wild blackberry, violet, dried flowers, graphite, and baking spice. On the palate, the wine balances ripe fruit with freshness and tension, supported by fine-grained tannins and exceptional energy. Wine Advocate awarded the wine 93+ points, highlighting its freshness, fluidity, and structure.
