Vivier Sonoma Coast Rose

Founded by Stéphane Vivier and his wife Dana Sexton Vivier, Vivier Wines is a reflection of Stéphane's Burgundian heritage and decades of experience crafting some of California's most respected Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Raised in the village of Meloisey, Burgundy, Stéphane studied viticulture and enology in Dijon before bringing his Old World philosophy to California. Since 2002, he has also served as the longtime winemaker for HdV (Hyde de Villaine), where his commitment to precision, balance, and vineyard expression has earned widespread acclaim. At Vivier, every wine is produced with the same guiding principle: thoughtful farming, minimal intervention, and a deep respect for terroir.

The 2025 Vivier Sonoma Coast Rosé is crafted entirely from Pinot Noir grown in the cool, windswept Sonoma Coast AVA. Harvested early to preserve vibrant natural acidity, the fruit is gently whole-cluster pressed with minimal skin contact before a slow fermentation that highlights purity and freshness. The wine opens with aromas of wild strawberry, white peach, pink grapefruit, and rose petals, followed by a palate layered with blood orange, citrus blossom, crushed stone, and a distinctive coastal salinity. Crisp, elegant, and beautifully balanced, it captures the freshness of the Pacific coastline while remaining unmistakably Burgundian in its restraint and precision.

Though intended to be enjoyed in its youth, this is far more than a simple summer rosé. It is a serious, food-friendly wine that reflects Stéphane Vivier's belief that elegance, balance, and a true sense of place should define every bottle bearing his name.
