This is the white wine that stops every conversation I have about Italian whites.
Timorasso is a grape that nearly disappeared from Piedmont entirely. Vietti brought it back with this single vineyard expression from the Boscogrosso hill in the Tortona hills. On the nose it is floral and honeyed with apricot, a thread of lemon zest, and something ethereal that I can only describe as freshness captured in amber. On the palate it is textured and layered with creamy warmth, lively acidity, and a salty mineral finish that stays with you long after the glass is empty. Organic farming. 16 months in ceramic, wood and steel before another 12 months in bottle. Worth every day of the wait.
