Racines Sta. Rita Hills Cuvée Chardonnay
Etienne de Montille's California Chardonnay project. Burgundian precision in coastal Santa Barbara.
Burgundy and Champagne walk into Sta. Rita Hills.
The first project outside France for Etienne de Montille of Domaine de Montille in Volnay, his Burgundian colleague Brian Sieve, and Champagne grower Rodolphe Peters of Pierre Peters. Burgundian and Champagne winemaking traditions translated into Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay.
The Sta. Rita Hills Cuvée is a blend from three of the appellation's most respected vineyards: La Rinconada, Wenzlau, and Bentrock. The 2021 vintage delivers the precision and lift this team is famous for: bright and beautifully focused, with citrus, white flowers, slate, and white pepper, and a clean saline finish that closes long.
Drink from 2025 through 2032.
