In the village of Avize, Pascal Agrapart is a quiet legend. Three stars from La Revue du Vin de France. In a category of only nine estates that includes Selosse, Egly-Ouriet and Krug.
Les 7 Crus is his everyday Champagne. His words, not mine. What that actually means: 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir from seven villages including four Grand Crus - Avize, Oger, Cramant and Oiry. Some plots farmed by horse. Uncommonly old vines. A steadfast commitment to organic viticulture and soil health over certification. Peach, apricot, lemon, pear, almond, spicy anise on the nose. Fresh and crisp with fine bubbles and wonderful purity of fruit. The kind of Champagne that makes you understand what the Cote des Blancs is capable of in the right hands.
