When Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti and Larry Hyde of one of Napa’s most iconic vineyards decided to make wine together, this is what happened.
Struck match, citrus blossoms, crushed stones and salted nuts on the nose. On the palate it is taut and focused with driving acidity that keeps you coming back for another sip. Vibrant, mineral, and relentless in the best possible way. Hyde Vineyard is farmed sustainably across 63 carefully managed hectares in Carneros. The result is a Chardonnay that sits at the intersection of two of the world’s greatest wine cultures. Closing in on perfection according to James Suckling. I agree completely.
