Right Bank Bordeaux under $50 from a 18th century estate on the Cote de Saint-Emilion, guided by the legendary Pierre Seillan. Yes, really.
Les Cadrans is the second label of Chateau Lassegue, and it over-delivers on every front. The 2023 brings nutmeg, white pepper, rose petals and red fruits on the nose. On the palate it is rich and harmonious with fine tannins, beautiful minerality and a freshness that carries through to a vibrant finish. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon from south-facing hillside vines averaging 40 to 60 years old. Drink now or over the next eight years. This is one of the best value bottles in the entire collection.
